Curated sets from established and upcoming talent on the Manchester circuit every Friday and Saturday – expect a broad range of influences and styles and an ever changing roster soundtracking your weekends in the studio.

Brand New online based radio station taking it to another level, based in The south of England.

Friday 13th – Ned Blanders

Embracing the thriving techno scene around him, Manchester-based artist, Ned Blanders crafts a unique blend of melodic music, intertwining tranquil patterns with dark, heavy kicks. Grounded in his solid understanding of music theory and composition from his University studies, Ned Blanders’ productions showcase variant chord progressions and lyrical melodies that span a spectrum from peak-time energy to introspective downtempo vibes.

Friday 13th – shelle.y

Shelley started at Side Street Studio from participating in the bi-weekly Mixer. Its been on the up from there. Now booked on almost a weekly basis, she brings chill afro, jazz and funk grooves to the bar which are perfect for listening to over a cold beer or cocktail.

Saturday 13th – Talking Motion

Matt, AKA Talking Motion, is a killer Manchester based selector has played all over Manchester and the UK. The Brilliant Corners resident has tastes as deep as they go, with the collection to match, and pulls out heater after heater every time we’ve seen him.

Friday 19th – Dharma Collective

Deep-digging DJ duo, event curators and former  Melodic Distraction radio hosts on Melodic Distraction, James Sims & Kole Akeju – AKA Dharma Collective – began working together in 2015 at legendary Liverpool venue The Magnet.

Saturday 20th – Be With Records

Rob’s strictly all-wax selections express his love of music of many forms. Most comfortable playing for the duration of a night, his 4-5 hour ‘anything goes’ sets are very much in the Balearic-cosmic spirit. As such, they take in soul, funk, rare groove, modern R&B, perfect pop, disco, boogie, classic hip-hop, house and any combination of the above.

The only real criteria is that the music has to have soul and personality.

Friday 26th – Dom Owen

Dom is a DJ and collector who’s sound comprises of Deep Soul, Rare Groove, Modern Soul, Rocksteady and Lovers Rock.

Expect some familiar and lesser known selections from the record box.

Friday 26th – Zeyla

Zeyla is a shape shifting multi genre who doesn’t limit herself to one sound. She was raised on Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop, Electronic, Deep House, Latin, Funk, and anything that her parents deemed fly enough to blast through the speakers. This has enabled her to have an enriched mixing style and artistry in her mixes that is distinctive and allows her to be pioneering when telling a story through her sound. Zeyla is a true selector.

Saturday 27th – Jack Duckham

When he’s not tickling the strings he spends his time harvesting the finest funky morsels, disco tidbits and soulful slappers.

Saturday 27th – Joss Bennet

JWB, Steam-MCR radio resident with monthly show Adhesive Audio, brings textured and downtempo sounds to Side Street Studio. If he’s not dancing in Manchester, the UK and Europe find JWB hunting for street and sticker art across the city.

Expect melodic, bouncy and playful selections to keep you cruising all night long.
